Meet Dr. Sorbello

Natalie M. Sorbello, DDS, FAGD, FOM

Dr. Natalie Sorbello grew up in Maryland, in a suburb of Washington DC.  She earned her BA in Psychology from College of the Holy Cross, in Worcester, Massachusetts.  She then completed one year of research on periodontal disease at Boston University.  She then moved back to Maryland and received her doctorate in dental surgery in 2012, from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry – the world’s first dental school. She subsequently moved to Pennsylvania as she was accepted into the General Practice Residency program at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.  In this program, she gained advanced training in oral surgery, sedation, and pediatric care.

As a dedicated provider and advocate of continuing education, she achieved Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry.  This entailed completing over 500 hours of continuing education along with successfully completing an extensive written exam.  This distinction is only held by 6% of dentists nationwide.

Within the last few years, Dr. Sorbello has developed an interest in orofacial myology.  This study shows how atypical patterns of the muscles of the mouth and face may interfere with the growth, development, and function of the teeth.  She has pursued further courses on this subject and was one of the first few dentists in the world to receive her Fellowship in Orofacial Myology.  This required completing comprehensive coursework together with a written and oral examination.

She is committed to providing the highest quality and compassionate care. To achieve this end she has taken countless hours of continuing education in order to stay abreast of new developments in the world of dentistry.  She enjoys getting to know patients and their families over time which she regards as one of her favorite parts of dentistry.  Her practice philosophy is “I treat all my patients as if they are my family”.

She is an active member of the ADA (American Dental Association), AGD (Academy of General Dentistry), and IAOM (International Association of Orofacial Myology).

Outside of the office, Dr. Sorbello stays busy with her husband and two children.  She is a classically trained singer and enjoys singing at her church, traveling, taking exercise classes, and getting together with her family and friends.  She looks forward to meeting you and helping you achieve a beautiful and healthy smile!
