Choosing the right toothbrush can be overwhelming. There are so many options on the market, soft or hard bristles, mechanical or manual. How do you choose which toothbrush is right for you?
Things to Consider When Choosing a Toothbrush
Size
The heads of toothbrushes should be appropriately sized to easily reach all the surfaces of your teeth, including the molars in the back of the mouth.
Bristles
Bristles come in all varieties from soft, medium, to hard. Most people prefer a soft-bristled brush. Stiffer bristled brushes can actually cause tooth and gum damage.
Electric or Disposable?
Disposable toothbrushes are more affordable upfront than electric toothbrushes. However, the benefit of the electric toothbrush is that they do keep your teeth cleaner so it has the potential to save money with reduced dental bills.
